Welcome to Your Car-Free, Care-Free Vacation Guide!
It all started when, as part of a flight crew for a major airline, I had layovers of 24 to 36 hours in cities where I did not have access to a car. That experience led to taking several vacations that intentionally didn't involve a car. We realized that the travel experience was much richer, more interesting, and more creative. We discovered off-the-beaten-highway kinds of places that otherwise would have been undiscovered. Plus, the vacation seemed to go at a slower pace, and who wants to rush through their vacation, after all?
So we are developing this site to help others plan and enjoy a vacation not just from work, but also from the stresses of driving.
